SpotBud Terms of Use

Welcome to SpotBud. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. Please read them carefully.

1. Who can use SpotBud

You must be at least 18 years old to use SpotBud. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store; cancel it in your Apple account settings (see section 8).

3. Community rules & zero tolerance for objectionable content

SpotBud has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post, send, or share content that is:

Harassing, hateful, threatening, or bullying;
Sexually explicit, nude, or obscene;
Violent, dangerous, or promoting self-harm;
Spam, scams, or misleading;
Illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights.

You also agree not to harass other users, impersonate anyone, scrape data, or misuse the app. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Content you post

You keep ownership of the content you create. By posting, you grant SpotBud a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content within the app so the service can function. You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the rights to it.

5. Reporting & moderation

You can report posts and block other users in the app. We review reports and may remove content that violates these Terms. If your content is removed, you will be notified and may appeal the decision from within the app.

6. In-person meetings — your safety

SpotBud can help you connect with other people, including to work out together in person. SpotBud does not verify the identity, age, background, or intentions of its members, and a verified badge (section 10) does not change that. You meet others entirely at your own risk. Always meet in public places such as a gym, never share your home address, tell someone you trust where you're going, and stop any interaction that feels unsafe. Spotbud LLC is not responsible for the conduct of any user or for anything that happens during an in-person meeting.

7. Not medical advice

SpotBud provides fitness and nutrition information for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a doctor, trainer, or registered dietitian. Consult a qualified professional before starting any exercise or nutrition program. You participate in physical activity at your own risk.

AI trainer replies, workout plans, and nutrition estimates (including meal photo scans) are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important before you rely on it.

8. Subscriptions & payments

SpotBud offers an optional paid membership (Founding Member), billed monthly or yearly.

Price. The price of each plan is shown in the app, in your local currency, before you buy.
Billing. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
Auto-renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
Free trials and introductory offers. If a plan includes a free trial or introductory offer, it turns into a paid subscription at the price shown when it ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial or offer.
Cancelling. Manage or cancel anytime in your device's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Founding Member price. The Founding Member price applies while continuously subscribed. If your subscription ends (for example, you cancel and it lapses) and you subscribe again later, the price shown in the app at that time applies.
Free plan limits. Some features have limits on the free plan, such as how many posts, challenges, events, or workouts you can use in a period. The limits are shown in the app, and a paid membership raises them.
Fair use. Features described as "unlimited" are subject to reasonable limits that protect SpotBud from abuse and automated use.

9. Advertising

SpotBud may display sponsored posts from businesses. Sponsored content is labeled "Sponsored." Sponsored posts are not targeted: every member sees the same sponsored posts, and we don't use your profile, health, or activity information to choose them. We only keep anonymous totals of how many times each sponsored post is shown and tapped. Advertisers are responsible for their own content and claims.

10. Badges and verification

Verified badge. SpotBud may give an account a purple verified badge. The badge means SpotBud has reviewed that account and chosen to add it. It does not mean SpotBud has confirmed who a person is, their age, their qualifications, or that they are safe or trustworthy, and it is not an endorsement of the person or anything they post. We give and remove badges at our discretion and without notice, including if an account breaks these Terms or its details change.
Applying. You can apply in Settings → Apply for Verification by telling us why your account should be verified and giving a contact email. You can apply once every 7 days. Applying does not guarantee a badge or a reply, and we may decide without giving reasons. Do not send passwords, government ID numbers, or anything else you do not want us to read. We use your application only to review your account and to write to you about it, as described in our Privacy Policy. Information in an application must be true, and we may refuse or remove a badge if it is not.
Founding Member crown. A paying Founding Member may show a crown beside their name while their membership is active.

11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

SpotBud is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spotbud LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including injuries from exercise or interactions with other users.

SpotBud's maps, routes, turn-by-turn walking directions, distances, and step and activity counts are provided for convenience and may be inaccurate. Always watch your surroundings, follow traffic laws and posted signs, and use your own judgment. Weather information in SpotBud is provided by Apple Weather (data sources) and may be inaccurate or out of date.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived or limited by contract.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using SpotBud and delete your account at any time.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

14. Apple's standard terms

If you downloaded SpotBud from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app.

15. Third-party software and data

SpotBud includes open-source software that is licensed under its own terms. The licenses and notices are listed in the app under Settings → Open-Source Licenses. Product information from barcode scans comes from Open Food Facts and is available under the Open Database License. Maps and directions are provided by Apple Maps, and weather by Apple Weather.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
